Prayers of Intercession

Let us prepare a way for the Lord during the last two weeks  of Advent.

Our prayer response is, “Lord, graciously hear us.

  1. We pray that Pope Francis, who will celebrate his 80th birthday next Saturday, will be kept safe from the hands of his enemies. Lord, hear us.
  2. We pray that those who suffer persecution or discrimination because of their faith in Jesus may be strengthened in their courage. Lord, hear us.
  3. We pray that the victims of war and persecution in places like South Sudan, Nigeria, Syria and Iraq, may soon be free of their suffering. Lord, hear us.
  4. We pray that the Lord will come and save those who have died recently especially, Sr. Helena Logue, Pius Michael Baines and Margaret Robertson Gibson. Lord, hear us.
  5. Let us pray to Our Lady of Paisley for Bishop Keenan.   Hail Mary……

Almighty God,  give us true joy and peace as we welcome into our hearts your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.  We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Notice: Children’s Liturgy Group Christmas Party

The annual Christmas Party for the children who attend Children’s Liturgy takes place this Saturday – 10th December from 2pm – 4pm in the Parish Hall.

If you wish your child/children to attend the Party and haven’t as yet returned your consent form to one of the Leaders please send it to stcadocs@stcadocscatholicchurch.org or hand it in on the day.  There will also be forms available at the party for you to sign when you arrive.

Let us prepare a way for the Lord during these sacred days of Advent.

Our prayer response is, “Lord, graciously hear us.

  1. That there will be peace on earth,  particularly in those places torn apart by violence, especially in Iraq and Syria. Lord, hear us.
  2. That the families of the parish will not be anxious about Christmas in regard to food and gifts. Lord, hear us.
  3. That we will be tolerant with one another, and united in mind and voice, as we use these days to prepare for the birth of Christ. Lord, hear us.
  4. We pray for those who, in death, await the return of Jesus and their own resurrection. We remember especially, Fr. Peter Hans Kolvenback, Canon James Simcox, Francie Hinton, Mrs Carmichael, Mrs. Venturi, Jimmy McDade, Gerry McDaid, Alison McKinley and Kay Galloway. Lord, hear us.
  5. Let us pray to Our Lady of Paisley for Bishop Keenan.   Hail Mary……

Almighty God, let your justice flourish in our times and let the fullness of peace come to all nations.  We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Let us be determined to walk in the light of the Lord whose return we wait for in hope.

Our prayer response is, “Lord, graciously hear us.

  1. We pray for Pope Francis and Bishop Keenan, that they may lead us into this Advent Time, with our focus on the person of Jesus, Son of God and born of the Virgin Mary. Lord, hear us.
  2. We pray for all Christians in Scotland, that they will enter into Advent with eyes focussed on the person of Jesus Christ. Lord, hear us.
  3. We pray for the nations of the world, and especially where there is war and terrorism, so that nation will not lift sword against nation and there will be no more training for war. Lord, hear us.
  4. We pray for all the people of Jerusalem and the Holy Land, that there will be peace in their homes. Lord, hear us.
  5. We pray for those who, in death, await the return of Jesus and their own resurrection. We remember especially, Kay Reilly, Mrs Campbell, Owen McCaffrey, Sandy Riddell, Daniel Hart, Patrick Trainer, Mary Steele and Harry McGunnigle Lord, hear us.
  6. Let us pray to Our Lady of Paisley for Bishop Keenan.   Hail Mary……

God our Father, we rejoice as we journey to the heavenly Jerusalem, the eternal city of peace. Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Prayers of Intercession: The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

Prayers of Intercession

Celebrant: Let us pray on the culmination of the Jubilee of Mercy for Pope Francis, Bishop Keenan and the Diocese of Paisley; and all our families.

Petition Leader: Our prayer response is, Grant this, almighty God.

  1. For Pope Francis that he will know the consolation of the Holy Spirit. Let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For those burdened with sin or distress, that Jesus will enable them to find their way to Confession. Let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For governments across the world, that they will understand the importance of mercy in their decisions. Let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For those who are trapped in the violence of Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan, and for all enduring persecution for their faith, that mercy and justice will soon be theirs. Let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For all on our parish November Lists that they will rejoice in God’s eternal mercy. We remember those who have died recently especially, Alice Hannah, Con Harley, Anne Fallon, John Robertson, Michael James Dillon, Carol D’Ambrosio, Tommy Young and Billy Dunwoodie.  Let us pray to the Lord.
  6. Let us pray to Our Lady of Paisley for Bishop Keenan.   Hail Mary……
