Prayers of Intercession: 4th Sunday of Lent

Prayers of Intercession

The vulnerability of the man born blind and the compassionate response of Jesus, gives us confidence to pray to the Father through his Son, Jesus Christ.

  1. We pray for each other that in our thirst for a deeper faith we will deepen our relationship with Jesus during this time of Lent. Lord, have mercy.
  2. We pray for those in our parish who are preparing to be received into the Catholic church at Easter that the love of Christ will be poured into their hearts. Lord, have mercy.
  3. We pray that on the SCIAF Sunday, we will respond with love and compassion for those in East Africa suffering because of droughts, famine and lack of proper farming equipment and supplies. Lord, have mercy.
  4. We pray that every family will be generous in donating through the Wee Box Appeal as well as in today’s special collection at the end of Mass today. Lord, have mercy.
  5. We remember all those who have died recently, especially, Vivienne Deuce, Marian Russell and Helen McKenna. Lord, have mercy
  6. Let us pray to Our Lady of Paisley for Bishop Keenan:  Hail Mary….

Almighty and everlasting Father, as you pour into our hearts your mercy, strengthen us to show mercy to others at all times. Through Christ our Lord.    Amen.

God directed Peter, James and John, to listen to Jesus, his Beloved Son. With confidence, we bring these petitions to the God of Mercies.

  2. We pray for Christians being persecuted for their faith across the world. Lord, have mercy.
  3. We pray that we will reverence, read, and find nourishment in the Sacred Scriptures. Lord, have mercy.
  4. We pray that the people of Mosul in Iraq will be delivered from their present danger; that all fighting will cease, peace be restored and refugees be able to return to rebuild their homes and city. Lord, have mercy.
  5. We pray for the 90,000 Christians who died for their faith in 2016 that they will find their peace in God’s loving embrace. Lord, have mercy.
  6. We remember all those who have died recently, especially, Catriona Nairn, Anne Hutchinson, Margaret Boyd and Jack Brown. Lord, have mercy
  7. Let us pray to Our Lady of Paisley for Bishop Keenan:  Hail Mary…

May your faithful be strengthened by you, O God: in grief, may you be their consolation; in tribulation, their power to endure; and in peril, their protection. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Prayers of Intercession: The First Sunday in Lent

Prayers of Intercession

During Lent we seek to draw closer to Jesus who endured temptation like us, was sustained by the Holy Spirit, and remained faithful to his Father.

  1. May Pope Francis lead us into Lent, full of prayer, charity and self-discipline. Lord, have mercy.
  2. May the parishioners of St Cadoc’s grow in holiness this Lent, and be active in charity and mercy. Lord, have mercy.
  3. May efforts to end the Syrian War and the violence of Iraq, the persecutions of Christians in the Middle East and in Africa, and the persecution of Muslins in Myanmar, come to an end through peaceful negotiations. Lord, have mercy.
  4. May those who have died find their rest in God.  We remember especially, Alec Byrne, Janet Hogg, Rose Conlon, Charles Coyle, Kathleen Traynor, Lina Camillo, Stefania Shemoniak and Susan Kelly. Let us pray to the Lord. Lord, have mercy.
  5. Let us pray to Our Lady of Paisley for Bishop Keenan:  Hail Mary….

Almighty God, be merciful to us sinners. Renew us in your Son Jesus and let us walk confidently in the power of the Holy Spirit. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Requiescat in Pace: Charles Coyle and Lena Camillo

It is with great sadness that the parish is holding two funerals next week.

Please keep the deceased and their families in your prayers.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. amen.  May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
