Prayers of Intercession: 4th Sunday of Ordinary Time

Prayers of Intercession

Let us not lose sight of Jesus but with faith bring to Him our prayer for all in need.

  1. We pray for the Church as Pope Francis and Bishop Keenan proclaim Jesus to the nations with words and actions of mercy.  Christ, hear us: Christ, graciously hear us.
  2. We pray for the Christians in the Middle East, and in nations across the African continent and in Asia, who endure persecution because of their faith, that they will have courage as they face the sins of intolerance and cruelty.  Christ, hear us: Christ, graciously hear us.
  3. We pray for families suffering division, that the mercy of Jesus will bring healing, respect and understanding.  Christ, hear us: Christ, graciously hear us.
  4. We pray in this Jubilee of Mercy for the protection of children,  that there will be love in families, wisdom in parliamentarians,  professionalism among care workers and sensitivity in the community.  Christ, hear us: Christ, graciously hear us.
  5. We pray for our departed relatives, friends and parishioners, that they will receive the reward of eternal life. We remember especially, Margaret Kelly and John Shields.  Christ, hear us: Christ, graciously hear us.
  6. Let us pray to Our Lady of Paisley for Bishop Keenan.   Hail Mary……

Lord Jesus, rescue us from division and set us on the firm foundation of your tender mercy, for you live and reign for ever and ever.  Amen.

Prayers of Intercession: Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

Prayers of Intercession

Let us gather together our prayers for the Church and the World.

  1. That we who are called to be holy may allow the grace of God to work in us and form us into the people of God.  Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.
  2. That like John the Baptist, parents may introduce and lead their children to a deeper relationship with Jesus.  Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.
  3. That God will renew the strength and energy of Christians in troubled lands and protect them from all harm.  Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.
  4. That our words and deeds may make God’s love and presence known to those in our families who have turned away from God and the practice of their faith.  Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.
  5. That we may honour and respect all human life which God has formed in the womb and holds in being each day.  Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.
  6. That those who have died may be gathered to the Lord and experience the fullness of light and salvation in Christ.  Lord, hear us: Lord, graciously hear us.

Lord, bless and keep us, let your face shine upon us and bring us your peace.  We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.  Amen.

Recquiescat in Pace: Peter McCormick

It is with great sadness that the parish announces the passing of Peter McCormick.  Please keep the deceased and his family in your prayers.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. amen.  May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
